A national level Sugar-free Dessert Challenge was held at Orion mall where around 100 home cooks and food enthusiasts participated and prepared some mouth-watering desserts with Sugar Free Natura. The challenge aims to find the best dessert chefs, among home cooks, in India. Home cooks and food enthusiasts from across the country submitted their favourite recipes for desserts prepared with the sugar substitute.
The competition kicked off with a cookout in Mumbai with more than 40 shortlisted home cooks. The dessert challenge is travelling to four cities - Bengaluru, Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkata before culminating in a Grand Finale featuring the top three recipes from each region fighting for the coveted ‘Best Dessert Chef’ apron. The Grand Finale will be hosted and judged in Mumbai by ace chef Sanjeev Kapoor.
Chef, Sanjeev Kapoor says that it is a great platform for innovative chefs to showcase their talent and induge in India’s love for desserts. “We are excitedly looking forward to tasting the dishes contestants create and understanding which ingredients they use”.
Indians have a sweet tooth, but they are also caught on to the health-food craze. They are making lifestyle changes and showing great interest in trying healthy alternatives. The challenge is to demonstrate that people don’t have to do away with the sweets to stay healthy.
