Rajesh Reddy in Audi — June 3, 2013: Rajesh Reddy, son of a realtor, was arrested by Ashok Nagar police in connection with a hit-and-run case. Reddy allegedly rammed his Audi into an autorickshaw, killing Deepak (19) and injuring two others. The victims were returning home from work, when they were hit on MG Road near Mayo Hall. Reddy, a resident of Indiranagar, was also involved in two other incidents after this. Every time, he had fled the accident spot. He is known as Bengaluru’s Salman Khan.

Krishnappa in Land Rover — July 17, 2013: Krishnappa, land owner and former president of Bommanahalli City Municipal Council, was accused of running over 12 people with his SUV, killing four of them on the spot, in Parappana Agrahara. He was allegedly under the influence of alcohol when he was driving and fled the scene after the mishap.

Woman in Toyota Fortuner March 11, 2012 : A drunk woman, driving a high-end SUV, ran over five people who were sleeping on the pavement in HRBR Layout. R Nagaraj, employed at a nearby construction site, died instantly, while Shivayogi, Hanumantappa, L Gouda and Rangappa escaped with injuries. The woman Mahi abandoned the Toyota Fortuner and fled with Ravi, who was also in the vehicle. The case was handed over to the CCB police and Mahi is still at large.

Techie in Tata Manza November 1, 2015: A 36-year-old techie mowed down two pedestrians on Sarjapur Main Road. Mala (42) and Chinnapaiappa (48) were killed. The accused Baljit Singh, a project manager with a private firm, had gone to a restaurant along with four friends and allegedly consumed alcohol.

January 25, 2009: A 29-year-old marketing operations manager, Karthik Somaiah, hit four morning walkers — Ramanath Panathur (73), Kempegowda (76), Radhakrishna (66) and Kodandarama Reddy (63) — before ramming into security guard Siddaiah (69), who was on a cycle. The guard was killed on the spot and the others escaped with injuries. Karthik was driving towards Indiranagar after a night of drinking with his friends in Koramangala. He fled the spot and later surrendered to Shivajinagar police.
