I am Missing my Friends, Says Crash Survivor

BENGALURU: College student Jayakumar, who sustained minor injuries in a car accident on Saturday, said that he and his friends  had initially planned to go to Nandi Hills after attending classes. They had gone to college, but left without attending any class.

Recalling those horrific moments when the car went out of control, Jayakumar said, that Kiran, who was driving the car, lost control of the vehicle after hitting a hump.

“Since there were eight of us in the car, some of us were sitting on each others’ laps. When it crashed into a tree, the airbags did not open and Kiran and Charles died on the spot. I had not informed my parents about going out with Kiran. We did not think that the trip would end like this. Three of them were my best friends and I am missing them,” Jayakumar said.

College authorities told Express the accident was very unfortunate and they were extending their support to the bereaved parents.

What Happened on Saturday

Eight teenager boys set off on a jolly ride, but within minutes they crashed into a tree and two of them died on the spot. The boys were on their way to Nandi Hills. Kiran Kumar, son of Sampath Kumar, and Charles, son of Wilson, were killed on the spot while Jayakumar, Avinash, Sheshu, Kiran Kumar, Mani Kumar and Srinivas Bhat were rushed to Satya Sai Hospital at K R Puram. All are aged between 17 and 18 and are PUC students of Commerce in different private colleges in the city.
