Former Law Minister and city MLA Sureshkumar has urged the state government to ensure complete transparency in distribution of housing sites

BENGALURU: Former Law Minister and city MLA Sureshkumar has urged the state government to ensure complete transparency in distribution of housing sites at the Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Layout. The sites, which received a huge response from the public, will be distributed by the Bengaluru Development Authority (BDA).

The BJP leader said BDA had received about one lakh applications for the over 5,000 sites of different categories. “The process of allotment of sites to the applicants must be completed within a specified time limit,” he said.

He said BDA had adopted the revenue model of any private real estate firm in charging heavily right from the application forms and registration process.He demanded that the state government do away with the practice of collecting deposits. He also recommended that the government appoint a retired judge to oversee the process of allotment of sites to maintain transparency.
