Goods Worth Lakhs Gutted at UB City Mall

Tension prevailed at UB City Mall after an accidental fire broke out in  a showroom and goods worth lakhs were gutted .

BENGALURU: Tension prevailed at UB City Mall after an accidental fire broke out in  a showroom and goods worth lakhs were gutted on Tuesday.

Three fire tenders were pressed into service and the fire was doused after an hour’s operation.

No casualties were reported and the management and staff of the building

evacuated people from the second floor.

The officials from the Fire and Emergency Department said that the fire broke out around 10.15 am in the showroom that was being

renovated on the second floor of UB City on Vittal Mallya road.

Reason Unclear

Security personnel who monitor CCTVs saw heavy smoke coming out  of a locked showroom and alerted the management staff, who then alerted the Fire Department.

The reason for the fire is yet to be ascertained and Cubbon Park police have filed a case.
