Karnataka Lokayukta Scam: SIT Files 5th Chargesheet

The Special Investigating Team (SIT) probing the Lokayukta extortion scam submitted its fifth and final chargesheet.

BENGALURU:  The Special Investigating Team (SIT) probing the Lokayukta extortion scam submitted its fifth and final chargesheet to the Lokayukta Special Court on Wednesday.

A team of officials submitted the chargesheet against Hotte Krishna, a tout of the Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board (KIADB), Y Ashwin, son of former Lokayukta Justice Y Bhaskar Rao, and N Narasimhamurthy, a first-division assistant working in the DG&IGP’s office, under various sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act and the Indian Penal Code.

According to sources in the SIT, this chargesheet is on the complaint filed by M Srinivas, a resident of Hanumantha Nagar.

Hotte Krishna allegedly took Rs 3 lakh advance from Srinivas to get allotted an alternative site from the Bangalore  Development Authority (BDA) using Ashwin’s influence.
