BENGALURU: Private medical colleges in the state have got relief from a major Post-graduate medical seat blocking scam reported in 2013-14.
Investigating authority Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has given a clean chit to the colleges as their role or involvement in the scam had not been proved as there was lack of evidence.
Confirming this to Express, a higher source from the CID said, “There is lack of evidence to prove the role of private colleges in the seat blocking scam. Even the air travel companies have refused to cooperate to provide details of the touts travel details.”
Meanwhile, a source also said after the CID initiated action against some top colleges, the Chief Minister allegedly handed the case over to CCB. “We had issued a notice to some top colleges, but as they were owned by politicians, they put pressure on the CM and tried to transfer the case to CCB,” a source said.
