BENGALURU: The monthly council meeting of the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) will be held on Thursday after a span of two months.
The council, which was to meet in the last week of November, could not meet as the code of conduct for the MLC elections was in force.
A BJP councillor told Express that they are going to protest against the Congress-JD(S) alliance in the BBMP. “There has been no difference. Pourakarmikas were not paid their salaries. There are potholes on roads and the garbage issue is still a nightmare. Traffic has become worse. We are going to stage a dharna,” he said.
Mayor N Manjunath Reddy is also expecting a stormy session. “We could not conduct the meeting due to the poll code. Many development and emergency works like cleaning stormwater drains were not taken up because of this,” he said.
