Kidnappers Get Cold Feet, Return Boy

BENGALURU:Five hours after abducting an eight-year-old boy and demanding a ransom on Thursday, unidentified kidnappers developed cold feet and dropped the boy near his house in Manjunath Nagar, Byatarayanapura.

The boy was kidnapped between 4.30 pm and 5 pm while he playing outside his house. According to police sources, the abductors approached him on the pretext of asking about his father’s shop, but when he went near them, the child was bundled into a car and taken away.

While the parents were searching for the boy, his uncle received a call demanding `50,000 in ransom. The parents informed the police, who formed teams and began tracking the number from which the call was placed.

The kidnappers sensed trouble and dropped the boy near his house around 10.30 pm, before fleeing, said DCP (West) Labhu Ram.
