Civil Dept Association Inaugurated at Loyola Tech

civil-dept.jpgCHENNAI:The Department of Civil Engineering inaugurated the Civil Department Association ‘Phidas’ and the student chapter (Civil) of the Institute of Engineers (India) on January 20 at the Loyola Institute of Technology.

K P Ramanathan, chairman of Institution of Engineers (India) or IEI, Tamil Nadu, and T M Gunaraja, council member of IEI, were present.

Ramanathan spoke about the importance of IEI and its current activities. Gunaraj encouraged students to participate in IEI Tamil Nadu’s technical activities.

Loyola’s principal Dr Sujatha Anand reminded students of the great marvels of civil engineering in the history of mankind. Other members who presided over the function are Sister Sasikala, Civil Department head Dr C Jenifa Latha and Father Justin.
