BBMP Councillors demand more Toilets in City

BENGALURU: BBMP councillors on Wednesday demanded that more toilets be constructed in the city.

D J Halli Councillor Sampath Raju said there are still no toilets in many places and former mayor Chandrashekar sought details about e-toilets in the city.

Responding to their queries, engineer-in-chief Rangaraju said that when B S Sathyanarayana was the mayor in 2013, 75 e-toilets had been approved of which 20 have been installed.

“We will install toilets wherever there is a need,” he said. Commissioner M Lakshminarayana said e-toilets will be constructed at bus stations and bus depots.

The BBMP has already constructed e-toilets at Brigade Road, which are expected to be ready for the public in a week’s time, he added.
