Blast: No Breakthrough Yet say Cops

BENGALURU: A month after the Church Street blast, the city police are still groping in the dark. Although there are numerous suspicions, they have not made any arrests.

According to City Police Commissioner M N Reddi, police are working hard to find those who were involved in the blast. “One month is not a very long time. Terror cases are challenging and investigation takes time. But our officers are on the job and are working hard to find and arrest those involved in the blast,” he said.

One person was killed and four were injured in the blast. Although the police were able to retrieve some material used in the bomb and CCTV footage from near the area, the lack of clarity had left them stumped.

Police had also made two sketches based on descriptions provided by citizens but have not been able to find any other corroborative evidence, according to senior police officials.
