Man Robbed of Gold, Cash at Knifepoint

BENGALURU: An unidentified armed man threatened a chartered accountant after barging into his car and robbed him of his gold ornaments and Rs 14,500. The incident occurred at Sirsi Circle near Cottonpet police station on Monday night. Police have obtained CCTV footage from the area to identify the accused.

Complainant Narasimha Murthy, a resident of Vijaynagar, stated that the incident took place around 9.50 pm when he was returning home after work. A bike-borne man waylaid him and forced him to stop his car. He then barged into it after threatening him with a knife.

The accused then snatched his gold chain and asked to hand over gold rings and cash before fleeing. He approached Cottonpet police and filed a case.

“Based on the complaint, we are checking the footage of CCTVs installed in the area to identify the vehicle used by the accused and investigations are on,” a senior police officer said.
