Man Held For Molesting Actress

The Ashok Nagar police arrested a 35-year-old civil contractor for allegedly molesting a Kannada actress.

BENGALURU: The Ashok Nagar police on Sunday arrested a 35-year-old civil contractor for allegedly molesting a Kannada actress.

According to a senior police officer, the complainant Hema stated that Prashant, a resident of Jayanagar, touched her inappropriately while dancing during a party at Chancery Hotel on Lavelle Road on Saturday night.

She even warned Prashant over his behaviour, but he continued to misbehave with her. Later, she filed a molestation case with the Ashok Nagar police. Police are also on the lookout for his friends who had abetted him. 

Police suspect that Prashant was involved in the murder of one BEML Krishnappa.

Pedestrian Run Over by Truck

A pedestrian died on the spot after being hit by a truck early on Sunday.

The deceased has been identified as Arun Kumar, an employee of an event management firm. He was aged around 29 and was a resident of HAL Layout.

Police said, “Arun Kumar met his friends early in the morning near a tea shop and was returning home when the accident occurred. Arun was trying to cross the road. He came under the rear wheels of the truck.”

Indiranagar police have arrested the truck driver and registered a case.
