Man Arrested for Bengaluru Financier's Murder

Yeshwantpur police arrested a 26-year-old man for murdering a 55-year-old financier from the city.

 BENGALURU:Yeshwantpur police on Friday arrested a 26-year-old man for murdering a 55-year-old financier from the city and robbing him of his gold ornaments. The incident occurred in Shettihalli near Kunigal in Tumakuru.

The deceased has been identified as Krishnappa, a resident of HMT Layout in Yeshwantpur. The arrested is Puneeth, a native of Shettihalli. His friends Somashekar and Chandra, are absconding.

A police officer said Krishnappa had gone missing from July 8 and his family had filed a missing person’s complaint. Police started an investigation and verified his call records. They then nabbed the accused who confessed during interrogation.

2 Commit Suicide

Two men committed suicide in the city on Friday. A 27-year-old M Tech professional, Guruswamy, ended his life by hanging at his rented flat in K R Puram and a 29-year-old auto-rickshaw driver, Jayavelu, committed suicide by hanging at his house in Ramamurthynagar.
