Panel Seeks Action Against Land-Grabbers, Officials

BENGALURU: The anti-land-grabbing action committee has submitted a memorandum to Lokayukta Justice Y Bhaskar Rao seeking action against land-grabbers and officials colluding with them.

Committee convener A T Ramaswamy and honorary president, freedom fighter H S Doreswamy, requested in the memorandum that suo motu cases be registered against such officials.

They accused the state government of shielding the powerful. They said even in case of Sarakki Lake, apartments of big builders were not demolished.They pointed out three alleged scams: The Rs 3,000 crore scam in allotment of sites by a housing building cooperative society, encroachment of 180 acres worth Rs 600 crore by a business family, and four public roads worth Rs 30 crore by a realty firm.
