CCTV footage reveals LKG student was pierced with pencil, not sexually assaulted

BENGALURU: K G Halli police who investigated an alleged sexual assault on the 5-year-old girl at the school premise found that it was a freak case and her male classmate in LKG had pierced a pencil on her private part.

Senior police officials who examined the CCTV footage came to conclusion that it was not a sexual assault. The incident took place on Monday before she left the school at Nagawara. After reaching home she complained about pain to her parents and she was taken to Bowring Hospital. The doctor who examined her alerted KG Halli police it is a case of Medico Legal Case (MLC). Based on the medical tests, police immediately probed the case and after thorough investigation they chanced upon CCTV footage of approximately six minutes that revealed the girl and the boy fighting each other and the boy piercing a pencil.

The parents who also watched the CCTV footage were also convinced themselves it was not a case of POCSO. The school has proper security arrangements and CCTV camera has been fixed at many locations including classroom and it helped the investigation. Based on the investigation we are going to report the same to court, the police added.
