It's Rajinikanth's Kabali's showtime, folks

They will be treating 1,200 people to chicken biriyani, fish and ice cream. Natraj Theatre has 7 cutouts of the actor.

BENGALURU: It happens only with Rajinikanth, the god of cinema, the man of the moment. The release of the superstar’s latest ‘Kabali’ has ushered in a festive atmosphere for the people of South India including Bengaluru.

The Kabali mania in the city can be gauged by the fact that a show starts as early as 3 am. Shanthinagar MLA N A Haris is organising this show at Balaji theatre and that too free of cost.

Cinepolis is starting the first show at 4 am and will screen 40 shows per day. Sathish Kumar, Cinepolis regional manager, South, said, “We opened bookings on Thursday and tickets were sold out in 20 minutes for all the shows.”

Going by the booking and high ticket price, it is estimated that the movie will collect `10 crore on the first day from Karnataka alone.

Kabali Fort

Chickpet Fans Association have set up a Kabali Fort at Urvashi Theatre at a cost of `5 lakh. Cine-goers will be entering through the fort to watch Rajinikanth on the big screen. 

D2 lakh worth garland

They are also planning to spend `2 lakh on a garland, which will adorn one of Rajinikanth’s cutouts, on Sunday.

Chicken biriyani, fish and ice cream as treatIf you are going for a matinee show at Natraj Theatre on Sunday, you may be treated to some good food as a few fans’ associations have come together to celebrate the release of ‘Kabali’.

They will be treating around 1,200 people to chicken biriyani, fish and ice cream. Natraj Theatre has 7 cutouts of the actor.

Lahari Velu, who has taken distribution rights of the film along with Gokul Films, said, “I am having sleepless nights. A lot of people are calling me asking for tickets. I have witnessed the craze for ‘Baahubali’, but the ‘Kabali’ craze is one-and-a-half times bigger.”
