Do not pay cash for new connections, says BWSSB

BENGALURU: The Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board has cautioned people against paying cash to anyone, to get new water and sanitary connections.

An official release warned that some posing as offiials were collecting application forms and fees in cash from people wanting to get new water and sanitary connections. “The Board does not receive any fee in cash,” the release said.

Those interested in new water and sanitary connections can download the application from the website bwssb.gov.in. The form needs to submitted with necessary documents, through authorised plumbers or in person at the nearest sub-division office.

After spot inspection, a demand note is issued and a demand draft needs to be submitted in the name of the Chairman of the BWSSB.

The release also clarified that monthly water bills, need to be paid through the BWSSB kiosks, BangaloreOne, ECS or online mode only. Cash need not be handed over to anyone, the release stressed.
