Three killed in a bike-scooter accident in Bengaluru

Three persons died and two suffered injuries when a bike collided with a scooter.

BENGALURU: Three persons died and two suffered injuries when a bike collided with a scooter in the early hours of Thursday at Chikkanahalli gate near Nandagudi in Bengaluru Rural district.

The deceased have been identified as Khalim [50], Barqat [35] and Ravindra [26]. The injured are Rohit and Chand Pasha. According to the police, the incident took place at around 12.30 am when Khalim, Barqat and Chand Pasha were riding a Bajaj scooter to drop Pasha. The three, all employed in a workshop, were taking a U-turn near Chikkanahalli gate, when a speeding bike rammed into them.

The intensity of the accident was such that the victims were thrown metres away and both vehicles were damaged.

Passersby rushed the victims to a hospital where the three were declared brought dead. Rohit sustained serious injuries while

Chand Pasha escaped with minor injuries.

According to the police, they are yet to ascertain whether the riders were drunk. the post-mortem reports were awaited.

The Nandagudi police have registered a case.
