23-year-old man killed, 3 injured as car topples on NICE Road

BENGALURU: A 23-year-old man died on the spot and his friends were injured when the car in which they were travelling toppled near Puravankara apartment on NICE Road in Thalaghattapura police limits late on Saturday.

Supreet Gowda, a native of Srinivasapura in Kolar, died in the accident. He worked with a private firm and was a resident of HSR Layout.

Police said, “Supreet Gowda and three of his friends were driving along NICE Road. Supreet was seated next to the driver. The driver lost control of the vehicle near Puravankara apartment and rammed a boulder on the roadside. The car toppled due to the impact and all the passengers sustained injuries.

“Patrolling vehicles on NICE Road rushed the victims to a hospital nearby. Supreet died on the way as he had sustained injuries to the head. The three others sustained minor injuries,” a police officer said.

The Thalaghattapura police have registered a case. “The driver and the two others in the car were put through a medical test to establish if they were drunk,” police added.
