32-year-old mechanic hacked to death by unidentified men

In a drunken brawl, a 32-year-old mechanic was hacked to death by a gang of unidentified men in front of KC General hospital at Malleshwaram on Monday.

BENGALURU: In a drunken brawl, a 32-year-old mechanic was hacked to death by a gang of unidentified men in front of KC General hospital at Malleshwaram on Monday.

The deceased has been identified as Dharma alias Kapale, a resident of Sriramapura. He was running auto garage in Yelahanka.

The police said that the incident took place in the early hours and Dharma along with two friends had gone to a nearby bar where he had quarreled with a gang. The bar staff managed to sent them out and after a while Dharma was walking alone in front of KC General hospital. A gang of men who came on bikes attacked him with weapons and fled the scene. The passerby rushed him to the hospital where he succumbed later.

Old rivalry is suspected to be the reason behind the murder and Dharma was involve in a murder case in 2013. CCTV footage has been obtained to identify the accused, a senior police officer said.
