Man accuses auto driver of harassing him, two women co-passengers

BENGALURU: A man has written a post on the Bengaluru City Police’s Facebook page alleging harassment of his two women friends by an autorickshaw driver. Seeking action, he adds that he was assaulted by the driver and his friend.

The complainant, Mohit Karla, writes that the incident took place on August 17 at Silk Board junction.

His post reads, “The incident took place at Silk Board at 6.30 am. The driver  physically attacked and harassed two women who were travelling along with me and also injured me. He was helped by another auto driver. They threatened to kill us and sexually attacked one girl. People gathered on the road to rescue us.”

“He was rude and disrespectful. Despite repeated warnings, he touched the girls physically and abused us saying the police is useless and traffic police won’t do anything, they are nothing here,” he added.

“He got scared when we clicked his photos and begged us to delete them,” the post read.

The city police have advised him to file a complaint at Madiwala police station.

The Madiwala police said, “We have contacted the complainant over Facebook and have asked him to file a complaint. He has not replied to our communications,” said the police.

He added, “We will decide the next course of action once we get to talk to the complainant face to face.”
