BENGALURU: A 36-year-old woman died and five others were severely injured when a mini bus in which they were travelling toppled at Nelamangala on Tuesday. All of them are garment factory workers.
The deceased has been identified as Kamala, a resident of Heggare village in Tumakuru.
Police said the incident occurred around 8.45 am.
About 45 garment factory employees were picked up from the villages around Tumakuru and Kunigal and while they were crossing Bommanahalli toll, the driver who was, allegedly driving the vehicle at a high speed lost control over it and it toppled into a ditch. While Kamala died on the spot, others escaped with minor injuries and were rushed to Nelamangala government hospital.
After the mishap, the driver fled from the scene.
