Man Gets Notice for Not Wearing Helmet in Car

BENGALURU: In what came as a shock to BJP spokesperson Prakash, the High Grounds Traffic police issued a notice to him stating that his friend was not wearing a helmet while Prakash was driving his car. He was also fined Rs 100 by the police, who mentioned in the notice that the pillion rider was not wearing a helmet while Prakash was driving in the city on February 4.

Prakash said he might have gone driving in the city on the day but he was alone. Besides, the police sent an erroneous notice but with the registration number of Prakash’s car - a Toyota Innova. “It shows their negligence even though the notice stated that it was a four-wheeler,” he said.

However, a senior traffic police officer dismissed the issue as a no biggie. He said sometimes police personnel might make such a mistake. “If the vehicle owner brings the mistake to our notice, the fine will be waived off. It is not an issue.”
