Case of Assault Filed Against DVS Nephew, Friend

BENGALURU: JP Nagar police have filed a case of assault against two men, including the nephew of Union Minister D V Sadananda Gowda, after they assaulted bouncers of Underdoggs Sports Bar & Grill in J P Nagar. It is said that the duo hit them after being denied liqour late in the night.

The accused have been identified as Abhishek, nephew of Sadananda Gowda and his friend Hitesh. Abhishek’s mother is Gowda’s wife Daati’s sister.

Police said that Anil Gowda, manager of the bar, alleged that on January 2, Abhishek and his friend had come to the bar with his friend and had consumed liquor till 11 pm. Then the duo asked the bartenders to serve some more liquor when the bar was about to close.

The bar staff told them that it was closing time and asked them to leave. Upset over this, Abhishek allegedly attacked four of the bouncers, and left the scene. A few days later Anil approached the J P Nagar police and filed a case. The complainant has produced CCTV footage of the incident.
