BENGALURU: A 25-year- old woman committed suicide allegedly over a family row in Manjunath Nagar in Basaveshwara Nagar in the early hours of Monday.
According to police, the deceased has been identified as Sujitha, a resident of Manjunath Nagar. Sujitha was married to Vinod and the couple had an 8-month-old girl child.
On Sunday night, the couple had reportedly fought over a family matter. After Vinod fell asleep, around 12.30 am Sujitha is said to have committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling using a saree.
The incident came to light when Vinod woke up early in the morning. Vinod informed family members and alerted the police as well.
Police said that Vinod works with a private firm in the parking yard for seized vehicles. He has been detained for further questioning. Basaveshwaranagar police have registered a case and investigations are underway.
