BENGALURU: Kamakshipalya police on Saturday arrested two more accused, including a minor, in connection with the murder of BJP leader Chikkathimmegowda. On Thursday police had arrested nine people, including Govindegowda, an ex-corporator of JD(S), and his wife.

The arrested are identified as Vishal alias Sethu (19), a resident of Gollarahatti on Magadi Road. Another juvenile accused (16) has been handed over to the juvenile home. The Chikkathimmegowda (42) was brutally murdered on November 8 while returning home on his bike along with a friend Naganna.

A senior police officer said that Vishal made Chikkathimmegowda fall down from his bike and repeatedly stabbed him in his chest. He used a dagger to kill him and later fled from the spot with the other accused. The minor accused had been passing on information to Vishal about Chikkathimegowda’s movements before he was hacked to death.

The prime accused Govindegowda, along his wife Mahalakshmi, had hatched the plot to kill Chikkathimmegowda and struck a deal for `30 lakh with some contract killers to eliminate him.
