The the inter-collegiate festival of Mount Carmel PU College - Esplendida 2016 concluded recently.

The ramp walk marked the grand finale of the two-day long festival that invited cheerful  participation of thousands of students from various colleges and universities across the city.

The final day also saw some wicked dance moves with DJ Ivan hosting the musical part of the evening. The festival saw a participation of 120 colleges from the city with a foot fall of 10, 000 people per day.
Many Carmelites were thrilled to see boys in their campus finally.

“We are excited to see boys in a girls only campus. This is a once in a year spectacle," said a student. Her Carmelite friends agreed.

The competitions saw an array of different talent shows and the revenue generated from the festival shall be donated to charity.

“We are extremely happy about the grand success of the event. This happened because of the efforts of our teachers, volunteers and students . We will donate the revenue collected from the festival to  Missionaries Of Charity in light of St Mother Theresa of Calcutta being canonised this year,” says Sr Ashwini,  Principal, Mount Carmel PU College.

The festival that let the boys into the girls college had its own challenges.
“There are certain areas where we restrict outsiders, particularly boys. However, when we try to stop them from going to certain restricted zones, reserved exclusively for girls, the boy try to argue with us for an entry,” says Vibha C, a volunteer.

Madhumitha Amarnath, a student says she is really happy about the festival's success. “We really enjoyed the festival. The competitions gave us an opportunity to be wowed by the kind of talent we are surrounded with”.
