BENGALURU: I started having a sore throat since August and it keeps relapsing. I have been to different doctors and the medicines prescribed work for sometime then there is a relapse again. I am a 27-year-old male and an irregular smoker.
Smoking can increase ones predisposition to throat infections and also GERD (acid reflux). You may need more detailed evaluation to confirm .
After taking bath, I feel water entering my ears. Whenever I clean it, there is a foul stink of water coming out of it. I wanted to know what that is. The problem started a decade ago when once there was a minor bleeding. I am 63-year-old and I also have a problem on the left side of my nose. I keep feeling that something is stuck inside my nose and often feel a sharp headache above my left eyebrows. If you have ear discharge bloody or otherwise especially spontaneously, you should get a detailed otoscopy (ear examination ) done.
Nasal endoscopy can simultaneously throw light on the headache where one can look for evidence of sinusitis.
I suffer with bad breath. I get a nasty taste from my throat. I often find debris from my tonsils. I avoid speaking to people but I make it a point to gargle with salt water, clean my teeth at least twice a day. It hasn’t helped.
You need to get a nasal endoscopy done to check for sinusitis. You also need to get your tonsils checked for cheesy material (called keratosis) Also a GERD (reflux disease) can cause foul breath or halitosis.
Everytime I get water in an ear I go almost completely deaf in it. Why is that?
Water which remains in the ear for long impedes sound conduction . Also it may wet the pre existing earwax which can cause ear block/ deafness.
