Drunk woman stabs husband in Bengaluru, refuses to let ambulance take him

A 49-year-old woman pumped three bullets into her husband after a long public spat while they were driving on Hosur Road.

BENGALURU:  A 49-year-old woman pumped three bullets into her husband after a long public spat while they were driving on Hosur Road.


Electronics City police rushed to the spot and took Hamsa into custody and rushed her husband Sairam to Sparsh Hospital where he is now being treated. 


They later handed over Hamsa to jurisdictional Surya City police officials. Kolar SP Divya V Gopinath, who is also in-charge of Bengaluru rural, said, “The pistol was licensed in Hamsa’s name.” It is said the couple had strained relations and were not living together and had met on Friday only to discuss a marriage proposal for their daughter.

Seemanth Kumar Singh, IGP (Central Range), said, “The pistol was loaded with 9mm bullets and was inside the car.”


Police sources said, “Hamsa was still under the influence of alcohol when we questioned her and couldn’t give any information. She did not even let ambulance staff shift Sairam into the van.

With the help of police and locals, Sairam was shifted to the hospital.The couple have a daughter who rushed after getting to know about the incident.”
