BENGALURU: A gang of four men including a rowdy-sheeter allegedly raped a 21-year-old garment factory employee after barging into her house at Dombarahalli village near Nelamangala.

The incident took place ten days ago and came to light after Madanayanakanahalli police arrested three of the accused and are hunting for the fourth.

Reportedly the gang tied the woman's husband in another room during the incident.

The arrested are identified as Raghavendra alias Kumar, a history-sheeter in Rajagopalanagar police station, and his friends Vijay Kumar and Venkatesh. The fourth accused, Puneeth is still at large. All are aged between 25 to 30 years.

A senior police officer said that the woman, who is married to a factory employee, lives in a rented house. The prime accused Venkatesh, an auto driver by profession, had been forcing her to marry him. She started avoiding him as she is already married and warned him to stay away. On November 16, around 10.30 am, Venkatesh stopped her when she was on the way to work and harassed her again. She slapped him and tried to raise an alarm. That same evening Venkatesh along with three men barged into her house.

They assaulted her husband before locking him in a room and then they raped the woman. They fled the scene around late night. The victim approached Madanayakanahalli police the next day and filed a case. She was subjected to a medical test. Based on a tip-off, three of the accused were arrested, the police added.
