Tamil Nadu woman artist commits suicide by jumping from hotel's 9th floor in Bengaluru

BENGALURU: A 34-year-old married woman, who is said to be an artist, committed suicide by jumping from the 9th floor of Aloft Hotel located in Cessna Business Park in Marathahalli, on Monday. The reason which led her to take this extreme step is yet to be ascertained.

The deceased has been identified as Valliamai V, a native of Karaikudi at Shivaganga district in Tamil Nadu.

The incident took place at around 11.15 am on Monday.

Abdul Ahad, DCP, Whitefield said she jumped carrying a painting kit from the ninth floor of the hotel. She had checked in on Sunday evening and left no suicide note. We are gathering more information about her husband and children, he said.

The reason which led her to end her life is yet to be ascertained and her family has been informed, who are yet to arrive from Tamil Nadu.

"Marathahalli police filed a case in this connection and we are verifying security measures in the business park as it is the second incident within five days," he said.
