BU Registrar, administration Prof K N Ninge Gowda said that the university has warned of action against institutes and candidates if the documents are found to be fake. “There is a simple method to check. There will be a number provided by NIOS on the certificate and if it is genuine the registered number will found on its website. IF not the document will be declared as fake,” said Gowda.
According to university officials, most students got admissions to BCom and BCA by submitting certificates from NIOS.
Recently, Bangalore University filed a cheating case against Akash International Business Management College based on complaints received from students. The institute had admitted students who had failed in PUC by promising them of getting certificates from NIOS.
