BENGALURU: Hunan, with restaurants on New BEL Road and Koramangala, has made some changes and interesting additions to their menu. One of the highlights is the introduction of ‘gluten-free’ food. Jagdeesh Menda, owner of Hunan, says that the option was included seeing the rising health-consisciousness among diners.
And Hunan has lived up to its name. The clarity and detailing of flavours in every single dish is impressive.
But there were few dishes which really stood out and are a must try when you are next at the restaurant.
Sweet and Sour Tofu Soup with Crabmeat
There cannot be a fresh and better start than this. The amalgamation of tofu, bamboo shoot, peas, baby corn and the essence of crabmeat in a great broth is just amazing. If you had a tiring day at work, this one is sure to soothe you down.
Sesame Cucumber Salad
Talking about fresh, this is an absolute veggies delight. With carrot, cucumber, scallion, coriander and chilli flakes tossed with sesame vinaigrette defines the term ‘salad’ in the most delicious way possible. This is sure to bowl over the meat lovers as well.
Vegetable Cocktail Rolls
No there is no alcohol in it an yet is on the ‘do not miss out on’ list. Mini crispy rolls are stuffed with a medley of vegetables and served with the lip-smacking spicy mango dip.
Braised Fish with
Burnt Garlic Clove
This one is a stunner, both in appearance and taste. The sliced seer fish, braised and served in a pool of hot bean sauce, is a classic all the way. If you are a person who cannot do without fish, this one is sure to win you over.
