Drunk driver causes serial accident and injures three in Bengaluru

The incident occurred around 11.30 pm and Uday crashed the vehicle into two bikes, a speeding car and an auto before hitting a pan shop by the roadside.

BENGALURU: An inebriated driver injured three people in a serial accident at Chandra Layout near Byatarayanapura on Tuesday night.

Uday was driving an Innova car belonging to a travel agency. He also damaged four vehicles.

Police said that the injured are recovering in a private hospital and Uday has been arrested. 

The incident occurred around 11.30 pm and Uday crashed the vehicle into two bikes, a speeding car and an auto before hitting a pan shop by the roadside. The bikers were severely injured while the auto driver escaped with minor injuries, a senior police officer said,

"We are yet to take statements from the injured and passerby rushed them to a hospital in Vijaynagar. Uday was taken for a medical test and it was confirmed he was under the influence of alcohol way beyond the permissible limit."

Suresh, an auto driver, told Express "I was about to start my auto after dropping passengers on Water Tank road. I was heading towards Magadi road to reach my house when the car rammed into my auto. I fell unconscious and was not aware what happened later."
