Assamese man held for killing kin

The Byatrayanapura police on Friday arrested a 28-year-old man on charges of murdering his 25-year-old relative over a financial dispute. The incident took place on June 20.

BENGALURU: The Byatrayanapura police on Friday arrested a 28-year-old man on charges of murdering his 25-year-old relative over a financial dispute. The incident took place on June 20.

The arrested has been identified as Mithun Das, hailing from Assam, and the victim is Sourabh. Both used to work in a hotel at the Satellite Bus Stand on Mysore road.

The police said Das allegedly killed Sourabh, to whom he had lend `10,000, by attacking him with a wooden log. The duo, along with other staff, used to live at a room provided by the hotel in Hosaguddadahalli.  Around noon, a scuffle broke out between the duo. In a fit of rage, Das killed Sourabh and left the city.
