BENGALURU: A school bus driver was caught near Ramakrishna Ashram near Basavanagudi for drunk driving on Thursday morning.
Police said around 8.30am on Thursday, Basavanagudi traffic police constable Shanthakumar noticed Dharmendra driving the bus belonging to Sri Ram Vidyalaya school in a rash and negligent manner.
Shanthakumar flagged down the vehicle and during checking found that Dharmendra was driving under the influence of alcohol. Shanthakumar alerted inspector Vijayakumar, who arrested the driver.
There were around six students in the bus and they were dropped to the school by Vijayakumar in his official vehicle. Traffic police seized the documents and a case was registered in Basavanagudi police station.
