Cop livid after FB takes down post, MP finally apologises

BENGALURU: A day after Deputy Inspector General (Prisons) Roopa D Moudgil put up a post on Facebook countering the claims of BJP MP Pratap Simha on the postings of IPS officers, she was shocked to find that the social networking platform had taken down her post. However, Roopa reposted the same post soon after.

Speaking to Express, Roopa said, “I got an alert on Friday morning stating that my post, which was in response to the MP’s post, was not available for view. A notification directed me to contact the Facebook helpline regarding the post, which did not help.”  The Facebook post had debunked the Mysuru-Kodagu MP’s claims that senior IPS officers are ‘migrating’ from the state as some officers were not given postings of their choice.

Roopa’s 650-word post was titled ‘Why the views of honorable MP Pratap Simha are so very wrong and dangerous’.  “There should be freedom for me to express my opinions,” she said.
Meanwhile,  in an exchange of tweets, Pratap said, “I have immense respect for u. Sorry, I have hurt u by giving rejoinder.”
