BENGALURU:The Karnataka State Pollution Control Board has issued closure directions to 114 industries operating in the Bellandur Catchment area.
According to a release, the orders have been issued under Section 33 (A) of the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act,1974, in line with the directions from the National Green Tribunal on April 19. BESCOM authorities have already disconnected the power supply to these industries.
The Board has also warned that despite the issue of closure directions or disconnection of power supply, if any industry was found using DG sets, the KSPCB will initiate further action under the relevant provisions of the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act 1974.
