BENGALURU: In a shocking road rage incident, a 26-year-old employee of a tours and travels agency was stabbed to death by two unidentified men at Chikkabidarakallu bus stop near Nelamangala on Sunday. There was, however, no CCTV camera installed near the spot.

A senior police officer said the incident took place around 8.30pm when Pawan Kumar was returning home after dropping his friends at Dasarahalli. He had gone to watch a movie with them but was alone at the time of the incident. On the way, his car brushed against a bike but he didn’t stop. Two men on the bike chased him, stopped the car and got into a brawl. In a fit of rage, one of them took out a dagger and stabbed Pawan in his chest and neck. Pawan collapsed on the road. He managed to call his friend Maruthi and narrate the entire incident to him. By the time Maruthi reached the spot, Pawan had succumbed to heavy bleeding.

Passersby who noticed Pawan lying in a pool of blood alerted Madanayanakanahalli police shifted the body for post mortem. “We are gathering information about the assailants. Preliminary investigations suggest road rage behind the murder,” said police.

The victim’s father Vishwanath told Express that Pawan had no personal enmity with anyone. “I do not know who are behind the crime, but police must arrest them soon,” he said.
On August 14, actor Gururaj, elder son of politician cum actor Jaggesh, was stabbed after a heated argument in a road rage case in R T Nagar. Realtor Shivashankar allegedly stabbed him and fled the scene.
