Upset over poor performance in her exams, a 13-year-old girl committed suicide by hanging at her house in Bilavaradahalli near Bannerghatta on Monday.

BENGALURU: Upset over poor performance in her exams, a 13-year-old girl committed suicide by hanging at her house in Bilavaradahalli near Bannerghatta on Monday. The deceased Chandana was the daughter of Vasudeva, who worked as a security guard in a mall. She was studying in Class 9 in a private school. Police said the incident took place around 11.30am. Her mother Rathnamma had gone to a garment factory for work. Vasudeva, who was sleeping in a room after returning from work, found her body. He alerted the neighbours who rushed her to a nearby hospital where she was declared brought dead.

Bannerghatta police were informed about the incident. Chandana left a suicide note stating that she was unable to study well due to some reasons. She, however, did not mention any particular reason.
In his police statement Vasudeva said that Chandana was studying in a Kannada medium school till Class 8. Therefore, she could did not cope after being admitted in an English medium school. 

Family finds anonymous letter
Vasudeva also told the police that they found an anonymous letter lying outside their house. The letter written in Kannada stated: “Vasudeva had not believed in my tantric powers and lost his daughter.’’ Vasudeva handed over the letter to the police.
