45- year old Tractor driver held for KSRTC staffer’s death

The Chickpet traffic police on Monday arrested a 49-year-old tractor driver who was held responsible for the death of a 25-year-old KSRTC security staff on Mysuru road flyover.

BENGALURU: The Chickpet traffic police on Monday arrested a 49-year-old tractor driver who was held responsible for the death of a 25-year-old KSRTC security staff on Mysuru road flyover. The incident occurred on Sunday morning and Siddu Hugar died on the spot. Passersby took recorded a video of him writhing in pain, instead of rushing him to the hospital.  

Police said that the arrested has been identified as B Gangadharaiah, a resident of Girinagar. He told police that he was heading towards KR Market and while on his way, the fuel in his vehicle was over. He stopped the vehicle on the flyover and went to bring fuel. The tractor did not have indicator lights on and Siddu, who came on a bike, rammed into the tractor.

After a while, Gangadaraiah came and noticed people gathered around the vehicles and also noticed blood marks on the road and behind the tractor. After Siddu was eventually rushed to a hospital, the police came to seize the tractor. Meanwhile, he ran away from the scene. "We also verified the details of Gangadharaiah and he had no any history of being involved in reckless driving and accidents earlier", a police officer said.
