Have grouse about your train ride? Tell the Captain

This passenger-friendly initiative will be extended to all the other 76 trains starting from various stations across the Benglauru Division shortly.

BENGALURU: The formal launch of 'Train Captain Seva' took place from KSR Bengaluru railway station on Tuesday by installing a 'Train Captain' on the KSR Bengaluru-New Delhi Karnataka Express (Train no. 12627) which departed at 7.20 pm. D Anand, the senior-most Travelling Ticket Examiner on board the train, assumed charge as the first official on-board Train Captain. The role of the Train Captain is to ensure a comfortable travel experience for all passengers by assuming in-charge role of all on-board service personnel, informed an official release. 

Three Additional Divisional Railway Managers of the Bengaluru Division, Sarvagna Bairava, GK Jalan and Kalyani Sethuraman were present on Platform One to see off the first Train Captain on his train.  
The Train Captain on a train will be wearing a red armlet to distinguish him or her from other TTEs. Passengers can approach the Train Captain to redress any grievance during the journey. The name and contact number of the individual Train Captain will be displayed on the reservation chart and announced through the public address system on board. 

This passenger-friendly initiative will be extended to all the other 76 trains starting from various stations across the Benglauru Division shortly. Trains like Rajdhani Express, Duranto Express and Shatabdi Express where the Train Superintendents (TS) travel from end to end will have the senior most TS nominated as the Train Captain. 

Dalsanur halt station to be closed 
Bengaluru: Dalsanur halt station on the Chikkaballapur-Kolar section of the Bengaluru Division will be closed with immediate effect, said an official release. The station is located between Srinivasapur and Gottihalli halt stations.
