Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB), in a press release stated that due to heavy rains in Cauvery and Kapila rivers' catchment areas, huge amount of water was released from KRS and Kabini dams. This resulted in an increase in turbidity (solid particles in water) of raw water being received at water treatment plant in Thorekadanahalli. Hence, the supply of treated water was reduced to areas falling under Cauvery Water Supply Scheme (CWSS) fourth and second phase.
