BENGALURU: An astrologer sustained head injuries as his vehicle crashed into a pole on TC Palya Main Road in KR Puram on Monday evening. However, while being shifted from one hospital to another, the delay in ambulance service costed his life. The police said he was not wearing a helmet and his head had crashed into the pole next to a footpath.

The deceased has been identified as Vinod G (24), a resident of Akshayanagar.Vinod’s relative Venkatesh said, “Vinod was rushed to a private hospital in Ramamurthynagar, but the hospital’s staff did not provide him proper treatment. Thus, I had an argument with them and asked them to shift him to another private hospital. Although the first hospital had two ambulances, there was no driver. It took a long time to shift him to another hospital on HAL Road. He was declared brought dead after he was shifted.”

Traffic police said the incident occurred around 6.30pm when Vinod was on his way to visit a construction site in the locality. He was passing Anandpura bus stand on TC Palya Main Road when he lost control over his Yamaha bike and hit the footpath. A passer-by rushed him to a nearby hospital.“Vinod often travelled abroad for clients who needed astrology guidance,” the family said.
