KungFu Bonda in city to make light of adulting

Stand-up comedian ‘Baggy’ promises to target those with girlfriends and parent-issues in the audience 

BENGALURU : He didn’t start his career as a comedian on an OpenMic night, and yet, Chennai-based Bhargav Ramakrishnan has made a mark in the industry in the last four years. Hitting 30 this year, Bhargav has a lot to say about the responsibilities of finally being an adult.Bringing his solo special ‘KungFu Bonda’ to Bengaluru for the first time, Bhargav is all set to talk about the wanting to be in a relationship, having mummy-daddy issues and the responsibilities that one is hit with after hitting 30. “The show is about those who are still coming to terms that they have grown older — it is based on my own realisation,” says Bhargav.

Bhargav says that he prefers talking about things he has first-hand experience in. “A chunk of my material is written beforehand, about 80 per cent, and on stage, I talk to the audience a lot and that becomes content,” he explains.

Having done over 50 shows and 150 monologues in Bengaluru, the comedian, who has an engineering degree, started off his career in directing, acting and as a manager for 11 years. Attending a comedy fest in Mumbai, Bhargav says, was where he was first became inspired to get on stage rather than working backstage,” he says.Bhargav will be performing on August 5 at Alliance Française de Bangalore at 7pm.
