BENGALURU: Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike’s (BBMP) Pourakarmikas, some accompanied by their children, staged yet another protest to demand their salaries at the BBMP head office here on Tuesday.

The workers, a part of the BBMP Guttige Pourakarmika Sangh, did not go to work and instead gathered in large numbers at the office to protest. They claimed they had not been paid wages for the past five months. They alleged that BBMP officials were threatening to terminate them.

Many workers had come with their children, to highlight the point that they were unable to pay their wards’ school fees as the annual year has begun. The strike was called off after the BBMP assured that the payment will be done in two days through a circular.
