Youth stabbed to death in Bengaluru

A group of men killed a 19-year-old youth in a bid to rob him of his mobile phone and wallet near Nayandahalli Metro junction on Thursday night.

BENGALURU: A group of men killed a 19-year-old youth in a bid to rob him of his mobile phone and wallet near Nayandahalli Metro junction on Thursday night. The deceased has been identified as Rahul Kumar, a resident of Deepanjalinagar.

A police officer said the incident took place around 11.30 pm when he was returning home after work. A group of men stopped him and threatened him at knife-point to snatch his mobile phone. As he resisted, two of them attacked and stabbed him repeatedly before fleeing the scene.

“Preliminary investigations revealed that an eyewitness called the police station to alert us about the incident. The police obtained CCTV footage to ascertain the identity of the accused. We have some clues about the gang who are habitual offenders and the efforts are on,” Byatarayanapura police said.
