Bangalore Development Authority commissioner apologises for depriving 60-yr-old woman of land

The Commissioner of Bangalore Development Authority Rakesh Singh on Wednesday has given an undertaking before the Karnataka High Court that there will be no such incidents in future.

BENGALURU: Tendering an unconditional apology for depriving a 60-year-old woman of her land against the court order in Bengaluru East taluk, the Commissioner of Bangalore Development Authority Rakesh Singh on Wednesday has given an undertaking before the Karnataka High Court that there will be no such incidents in future. Appearing before a division bench, Rakesh filed the affidavit stating that "the act of entering the land of the complainant was a bonafide mistake and unintentional under the foregoing circumstances. I humbly beg to be pardoned for the same."

Rakesh was asked to appear before the court as the BDA’s counsel on Tuesday submitted that the counter-affidavit was not filed in relation to the contempt petition filed by D Lali Varghese, a resident of Amani Byrathikhane in  Bengaluru East taluk, because Rakesh Singh was too busy to sign the counter-affidavit.
